Paper car for lexus
Paper artist Kyla McCallum was commissioned by Lexus to create a miniature version of the UX300e electric car and a city scape, made entirely from paper. The paper car model was built on top of a remote controlled chassis, on a 1:10 scale and included over 100 individual parts. Each of the car components were cut, folded and joined together entirely by hand using origami, paper-cutting and kirigami techniques. The paper city included thirty-seven buildings with paper-cutting, origami facades and a teeny tiny replica of an electric charging station. The paper car took five and a half weeks to make and the entire project took over four months to complete, from the initial concepts through to filming the final set. The first film below shows the final paper car and city and the second video gives a glimpse behind the scenes to how the car and city were made. You can read more about the project on the Lexus magazine website here.
